Kenya's top female music artist Victoria Kimani's debutes at No.10 on this weekends countdown with her hot new single Betta as the debut of the week. After getting so much attention for remixing Ice-prince's Oleku, you need to listen to this talented songstress with an amazing voice. But then, how far will she go on the countdown? You see, thats what makes this countdown so interesting; only time can tell.
Victoria Kimani was born in Los Angeles but originally from Kenya. She started writing, recording and performing at 16 and lived in Nigeria through out her high school years. She later moved back to Kenya at 17. Since she came back, she’s being shuffling between LA, ATL, NY and London working with top artists and producers, perfecting and developing her musical and visual craft as well as writing for all sorts of signed artists around the world.
In 2009, she joined a duo called Club Embassy and signed to Los Angeles Laker Ron Artest, and released a mixtape called Diplomatic Immunity hosted by 50 cent’s DJ Whoo Kid. This got over 250,000 downloads and created quite a number of Industry buzz.
In mid 2010, the duo split and began working on solo projects. Victoria has collaborated with Ron Browz, Maino, Jadakiss, DJ green Lantern, Busta Rhymes, Mario Winans, Cassie, White Nerd, Andy Chatterly, Pete “Boxta” Martin, Devyne Stevens,Konvict Music, Space Cowboy and countless other Producers and Artists worldwide. Victoria is now working on her debut Album.
